Learn to Play is the introduction to hockey basics. Children who have completed the four week Learn to Skate program are now ready for the Learn to Play program where the focus is on fun and learning skating as well as stick use, puck control and basic game instruction.
Learn to Play 9 & Up is our Learn to Play program for children 9 years old and older. This is so that the older kids, who are usually bigger, are learning and competing with kids at a similar size and stage of development.
Advanced Learn to Play is the continuation of the Learn to Play Program, usually for players who have completed the Learn to Play program. For Advanced Learn to Play, the emphasis is on skating and skill development with small area games in a fun environment

All players, coaches team reps, schedulers and volenteers must register with USA Hockey for the upcoming 2018-2019 season.
If you have not done so already please complete your registration and submit your confirmation number to SWYHA using the new online form ASAP. Failure to comply may hold up important steps needed to prepare for the season.
Coaches and volunteers who are 18 years of age or older, are required to consent to be screened and pass a criminal backround check conducted by The Connecticut Hockey Conference (CHC). CHC Screening policy is to screen an individual coach/volunteer every 2 years.
Coaches & volunteers screened in 2017-18 do not have to be screened this season and should NOT submit a CHC online application.
Coaches & volunteer personnel screened/rescreened in any season prior to 2017-18 MUST be rescreened, and submit a CHC online application.
